Katrin Stefanie Weidhofer

Born in Upper Austria in 1981, Katrin Stefanie Weidhofer moved to Vienna in 1999. She studied at the University of Vienna and graduated with a Master of Arts. 2012, she attended the Salzburg International Academy of Fine Arts (class of Christoph Draeger, “The Age of Collage”).
In 2013, she was admitted at the University of Applied Arts Vienna (Die Angewandte) in the department of fine arts (painting).

Katrin Stefanie Weidhofer began early with drawings and paintings. In 2001, she started to experiment extensively with mixed media, using all kinds of materials from metal and paper to other physical accessories. She frequently destroyed many of her early paintings by cutting them into pieces and started to re-order them in themselves. This is how the collage became her technical domain of interest.
